Sharjah Tourism Travel Quiz

Unmarked mountain routes and purpose-built trails mean both novice and experienced mountain bikers can explore Sharjah's territories on two wheels

From technical rides through rugged mountain terrain to casual cruising past date palm plantations, mountain biking is growing in popularity in Sharjah. In the east of the emirate, the many wadis in the foothills of the Hajar Mountains offer unmarked gravel or sandy tracks.

Shawka in Ras al Khaimah, a 15-minute drive east of Mleiha, also has a network of flowing trails developed by the region’s mountain biking community.

How to get there

Head to Hatta Mountain Bike Trail Centre for purpose-built, single track trails.  60km southwest of Kalba, the centre has 50km of trails graded using a colour-code system like skiing (green, blue, red and black).
