Hiking Trips

Adventure off road in a specialized, over undulating dunes and marvel at the ever-changing colours and sinuous shapes of the desert sands.

There is no better way to experience the wild beauty of the emirate than on foot. Mleiha makes a good springboard for walks around Camel Rock and Fossil Rock, while Dibba and Kalba offer scenic coastal and mountain hikes.

There are no official tourist hiking trails in the UAE but in Mleiha, for example, you will be able to follow well-worn camel trails that traders once took to cross the desert.

It is recommended that you use a GPS, wear light, loose clothing, pack your sunscreen and hat, and avoid hiking in the hot, humid months from June to September.

Better still, opt for a guided hike or overnight trek with Mleiha Archaeological Centre or an experienced operator such as Absolute Adventure (www.adventure.ae).
