Reel in a big local fish from open waters

Deep sea fishing spots are popular places to visit in Sharjah, with two gulfs full of a rich variety of species. Chartering a boat is easy, with numerous operators catering to experienced fishermen as well as families looking for a day out on open water. The waters of the east coast, particularly in the Khorfakkan area, is full of big game fish like marlin, sailfish, dorado and yellowfin tuna. Meanwhile, the Arabian Gulf shelters game fish such as kingfish, barracuda and trevally.

The fishing season in Sharjah starts in October and extends up to May, although the best months are November to February. Tourist places in Sharjah like the Khorfakkan Beach area is particularly popular during these times with several boats heading off into deeper waters.
