Excellent diving and snorkelling can be found within a few minutes’ boat-ride from Khorfakkan, as well as 20km north off Al Aqah in Fujairah. You’ll find colourful coral gardens and a huge variety of marine species, including turtles, rays, sharks and schools of neon-striped fish.
Popular dive sites near Khorfakkan include Martini Rock, Shark Island, the Anemone Gardens and Coral Gardens. In nearby Fujairah, top spots include Snoopy Island, Dibba Rock and the Car Cemetery. Most of the east coast dive sites are suitable for snorkeling, with Martini Rock a favourite location for families.
Sharjah’s dive centres are well equipped, offering diving trips, equipment for hire and PADI courses run by internationally qualified instructors.
