Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority to lead the emirate’s 19th year of participation in the exhibition
Date Published: Sunday, April 24, 2016 Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) has announced its participation in Arabian Travel Market Exhibition 2016, which will be held at Dubai World Trade Centre from April 25 to 28. This is SCTDA’s 19th year of participation at the major travel and tourism event which will bring together tourism decision-makers, specialists and representatives of tourist destinations from all over the world. SCTDA is aiming to utilise the ATM platform to establish itself as a leading tourism destination in the region, and promote Sharjah’s diverse offerings and the latest projects in its tourism sector to achieve the Sharjah Tourism Vision 2021 objective to attract 10 million tourists by year 2021. His Excellency Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of SCTDA, stated that the Authority is keen to participate in the annual tourism gathering to showcase the emirate’s innovative projects and promote its tourism sector at the international level to meet the expectations of visitors of all nationalities. HE Al Midfa explained that each year the Authority has distinguished its participation in the Arabian Travel Market with new initiatives. This year, SCTDA’s participation will witness the launch of ‘Sharjah My Family Destination’ campaign. He said the details of the campaign will be announced during the third day of the exhibition in the presence of all the partners in the Sharjah delegation. The campaign has been inspired by the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, focusing on families at the core of the strategic development of the emirate’s tourism sector, HE Al Midfa said. The Sharjah delegation in the exhibition includes: Al Khalidiah Tourism, Al Shaab Village, Coral Beach Resort Sharjah, Hotel Holiday International Sharjah, Ramada Hotel Sharjah, Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa, Air Arabia, Aryana Hotels, Cozmo Travels, Environment & Protected Areas Authority, Golden Tulip Sharjah – Hotel Apartments, Hilton Sharjah, Lou Loua Beach Resort, Marbella Resort Sharjah, Oceanic Khorfakkan Resort & Spa, Radisson Blue Resort Sharjah, Sharjah Airport Travel Agency, Sharjah Healthcare City, Sharjah Institute of Heritage, Sharjah International Airport, Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), Sharjah Museums Department, Trav Talk, Al Majaz Premier Hotel Apartments, and Sharjah Premiere Hotel & Resort Lavender Hotel Sharjah. Arabian Travel Market, now in its 23rd year, is one of the most important tourism events in the global tourism sector that contributes to the inflow of foreign tourists in the Middle East. Last year, the exhibition saw the participation of 2873 companies and witnessed deals worth more than US$ 2.5 billion. It also attracted more than 26,000 visitors.
