Day 1 - Sharjah City

Enjoy a leisurely lunch at Al Majaz Waterfront district beside Khalid Lagoon. There are plenty of great restaurants to choose from including Shakespeare & Co, a homegrown favourite with Victorian-era décor and an international menu.

Take a short stroll around the lagoon and check into the Hilton Sharjah Hotel. The glass-fronted hotel features luxurious rooms with panoramic city views, three pools and multiple dining options.

If you’re looking for something special to take home, head to the modern Sahara Centre, which is home to 350 stores stocking local and international brands. For a more authentic Arabian experience, delve into the maze of stores at the landmark Central Souk. There are more than 600 stalls to choose from, selling everything from carpets and handicrafts to gold and jewellery.

Wander over to the Heart of Sharjah heritage district and pop into the acclaimed Sharjah Art Museum. Renowned for its collection of contemporary Arab art, there are more than 500 works on display. Take time out to enjoy a coffee in the stylish café before you hit the shops again.

Take a 10-minutre stroll over to Malabar Gold & Diamonds in the Rolla Gold Market. The well-regarded Indian chain offers a wide selection of gold, platinum and diamond jewellery at competitive prices.

For a stylish dinner overlooking the famous Sharjah Fountain, head to El Manza at the Al Majaz Waterfront. Feast on fragrant tagines and slow-cooked lamb shanks as the fountain erupts every half hour for its choreographed sound-and-light show.

Day 2 - Khorfakkan

The east coast is calling! Jump in the car and drive to the enclave of Khorfakkan, located less than two hours from Sharjah along the Gulf of Oman. Check into the four-star Oceanic Khorfakkan Resort & Spa and get set to relax.

Before you head out to explore, stop by the Café Oceanic for a light lunch. The light-filled lobby lounge serves a variety of gourmet sandwiches, indulgent cakes and freshly roasted coffee.

Next, wander out to Khorfakkan’s palm-lined Corniche for a scenic amble overlooking the beautiful bay. Soak up the sea breeze, stop for an ice-cream and snap a selfie.

Time to lose the shoes and walk barefoot along Khorfakkan Beach. The 3km-long stretch of sand is dotted with palm trees, football goals and swings. Take a dip in the warm waters or just enjoy the sunshine.

Back at your hotel, chill out by the pool or indulge in a relaxing treatment at 360 Health Club & Spa – the rooftop spa boasts panoramic views of Khorfakkan, along with sauna and steam facilities.

Day 3 - Mleiha

Early risers will enjoy a sunrise stroll along the beach, while the breakfast buffet at Al Murjan restaurant will rouse even the deepest sleeper. Feast on an extensive selection of hot and cold dishes from across the globe at the ocean-facing all-day dining restaurant.

For a complete change of scenery, check-out of the hotel and drive inland to Mleiha Archaeological Centre, located in the heart of Sharjah’s central desert region. The area is renowned for its beautiful desert scenery and fascinating archaeological sites. 

Before heading out into the desert, stop for lunch at the archaeological centre’s Bystro Café. The menu features sandwiches, burgers, salads and more filling mains like pasta and steak, along with tempting desserts and excellent coffee.

The centre offers a range of great activities, but for the ultimate desert experience, opt for the six-hour Mleiha Adventure Package. The guided 4WD tour includes dune bashing up and off-roading, with plenty of opportunities to scramble up rock formations and learn about the archaeological sites.

After a full day of fun, it’s time to return to the city. For a buzzy night out, swing by the canal-side Al Qasba complex that is packed with cafés, restaurants, shops and galleries. Take a ride on the Eye of the Emirates Ferris wheel, then sit down for dinner at Shababeek, a contemporary Lebanese restaurant dishing up delicious mezze and grills.
