Day 1 - Oceanic Khorfakkan Resort & Spa

Journey east through desert plains to the coastal enclave of Khorfakkan for a weekend of snorkeling and scuba diving.

Leave the city behind and drive to Khorfakkan, less than two hours’ away and overlooking the Gulf of Oman. Check into the Oceanic Khorfakkan Resort & Spa and splash out on a sea-facing suite or plush villa.

First stop: lunch. Overlooking the ocean, Al Murjan offers an international buffet and à la carte options, including pizza, pasta, Arabic favourites and Mediterranean dishes. Be sure to try the refreshing mocktails, too.

An afternoon of sun, sea and sand awaits. Pull up a sun-lounger on the white-sand beach or under the shade of a palm tree by the pool. Treat yourself to a massage in the 360 Health Club & Spa – the rooftop spa boasts amazing views of Khorfakkan – or just relax in the sauna and steam rooms.

Pre-book a table at Bab Al Bahar seafood restaurant. The menu includes classic dishes such as lobster thermidor and grilled catch of the day, alongside mouthwatering meats baked in the clay oven and Indian curries. After dinner, enjoy a moonlit stroll along the promenade.

With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean, the views at Al Murjan are as inviting as the breakfast buffet. The impressive spread includes fresh pastries, waffles and fruit, along with eggs cooked to order and hot dishes from around the globe.
