As one of the main family attractions in Sharjah, Al Noor Island is known for its tropical biosphere filled with floating butterflies. Families can pick up a snack and a beverage from a cafe serving healthy food, visit the literature pavilion or take in a beautiful sculpture. The island hosts several art installations, including the world-famous OVO structure.

While the city is known for its yearly Sharjah light festival, Al Noor island boasts a similar spectacle on the regular. At night-time, light and sound installations convert the island into an awe-inspiring wonderland. With beautifully landscaped gardens and a large children’s playground to slide, swing and manoeuvre climbing frames, Al Noor Island is among the popular parks in Sharjah and one of the ideal places to go with the family. The 3.5-km long boardwalk on the island is also frequented by evening joggers, who enjoy exercising in one of the most scenic places in Sharjah. Once a year, it also hosts the International Storytelling Festival in a celebration of tales, fables and myths in Arabic and English.

You can club your trip to Al Noor Island with a tour of more of the top places to visit in Sharjah at night. Tour Al Noor Island, and hop into a boat for dinner by the water at Al Qasba. End your tour with a walk along the Sharjah corniche for a breathtaking night-time view of the city’s modern architecture.
