A scenic hiking trail through the Shees valley accompanied by the sound and sight of running water in the old ‘falaj’ system. The path winds between the mountains and runs alongside the picturesque waterway, joining an old village and local farms. There is incredible biodiversity in the area, too. Lucky hikers can spot native species of plants and animals thanks to nearby freshwater sources. A beautiful area of palm trees provides some shade, however, there are no major rest spots on the trail and so visitors are advised to bring water, food, and appropriate footwear.

Hiking in Sharjah is rarely dangerous, with well equipped facilities and information boards along most of the emirate’s walks. Help and phone signals are usually close at hand if ever needed but do make sure to keep plenty of water at hand, a small medical kit (plasters and insect bite ointment) may be useful. Don’t forget to take all your packaging and rubbish away with you so we can keep the beautiful places beautiful!
