The museum showcases how the sea played a key role in the growth of coastal cities and the primary reason for their development over 6,000 years ago

The significance of the sea to Sharjah’s development unfolds through well-presented displays on pearling, fishing and trading. There are displays of wooden dhows, including a full-size pearling boat, along with fishing and diving equipment and tools.

Discover how Arabia’s famous pearls were collected and admire a stunning specimen discovered by archaeologists in a coastal cemetery in Sharjah, which is believed to be one of the oldest known pearls in the world.
